Speleology is such a special activity,so unrewarding that it can be but a passion -a short lived one- or that of a whole life.Beyond the exploration of the cave,it's the exploratio. of the explorer himself ! For, in the cave, the true, quest of the explorer is in him self, in the discovery of unknown parts in his own self. The underground journeyman thus proceeds to the exploration of his unconscious being, a pursuit made concrete by the cave in which man is surrounded by darkness and the mystery of his future.A new exper ment that can be compared with the newly born baby's launched into exploring its existence with its first contacts with life. Jean TRUEL, inspired by the cave, has transferred from unconscious reality to open realization the breath of man's spiritu lity.In his work,he opens and makes free a way into the ego.And in this space the artist has materialized, everyone of us brings the el ments we bear in ourselves. The "pioneers", our masters in speleology Robert de Joly,Norbert Casteret, were not misied when they could ide tify in J.Truells wolks, some parts of their own beings that they were unable to express. In the den of BRAMABIAU,Jean TRUEL has developped a physi cal and psychic surimpression that is the actual source of inspiration. With this new look,he has allowed the genesis of the cavern tc be re-born in the very heart of its achieved state. Thus, through that communion with the natural element,Jear TRUEL,in his own way,has added to brute matter the human dimension, that of a spiritual being ...
